AI actually can take away desire to code. If what you do becomes cheap for the masses, you lose your motivation bit by bit. Also you were surrounded by art, now you are surrounded by crap. It does not kill your passion fully but drains you slowly.
Actually, staticly typed languages are easier for both humans and machines; however dynamically typed languages are harder for humans and probably neutral for LLMs. LLM should be able to infer usage (hence "typing") because it can put the entire codebase in its context, while humans cannot.
I'd count in LLM coding agents favour: e.g. willingness and capability to do things which I'd have to go read a tutorial for; as well as rapidly being able to iterate and narrow down e.g. when given access to a repl.
Rhombus looks promising in terms of tooling.
On the other hand: LLMs are susceptible to incorrectly guessing "I think it should work this way".. I'd guess the powerful flexibility of metaprogramming could be more annoying than helpful. But, I'm curious.
For me it's not stable. After they change their renderer from one to another it freezes for me from time to time. But on the other hand I'm running Nvidia on Wayland so I feel no hate towards Zed owners - and restart is super quick ;)
Interesting, I'm on Nvidia in Wayland most of the time too and haven't had single freeze or crash in a very long time. Even the Windows is running inside the Qemu.
Wow, stupid idea is hard to legislate. Nobody could predict that.
It reminds me of clients wanting some stupid feature from app developers which does not fit into anything, and makes no business sense, and therefore creates only problems.

Nah thats also part of historical tradition (in Slovakia). Folks doing that could earn way more working regular jobs down in city (even say Poprad, closest one). Its their passion, hobby, and there is a lot of respect in community for them. Even normal hikers can take some smaller load up, its encouraged and appreciated. It doesn't have to be 2 full 50l alluminium barrels of beer or similar 120-150kg loads.
In alps for example all this is done by choppers these days, a tradition lost.
I'm sure some application will be found for cargo drones, but they're limited in range, flight time, weather conditions, etc compared to people carrying stuff.
