I have one issue with Youtube shorts today. I keep getting the tate brothers and pearl recommended even though I have disliked the videos and informed youtube to stop recommending them. I have even sent a message to Youtube but still no luck. Nothing against those people, I'm just bored of their message they spreading and want to see something new

I actively block out content and tell social media platforms what I'm interested in and what I'm not interested in. This have improved my feed a lot and my social media have become a lot more enjoyable.

I have considered building a twitter filter program. Where instead of scrolling through endlessly content, where 90% of them isn't even good. I could just ask my twitter filter program to show me the most retweeted content, show person X last tweets, show me the most liked tweets of the people that I follow... etc. This will prevent me from scrolling endlessly, and speed up the process of information gather.

Social media if used correctly can have a lot of benefits. But takes some time to build up a good feed.

As a European citizen I find it amazing that there are so many people in here saying there is no cities in EU that can compare with Silicon Valley.

A growing city that creates reliable technology in Europe is Stockholm [1]. Which apparently is the second city after Silicon valley producing unicorn companies per capita in the world.

Since when is Klarna considered reliable? Last I checked they couldn't even produce a working checkout UI.

Even though I have suspected Stig Engström for a while, and so many statements that he been saying are incorrect compared to other witnesses. However, I would argue this is still not enough to guarantee he is the murderer, but only becoming the new prime suspect. But they can't get any further and they state they should have suspected him earlier so they could press him when was alive.

Worst part is the media stated that they had found technical proof and more and that should be released today and that is why they could decide he was the murderer. But all we got is: That is not possible but the story doesn't match up around Stig.

This is the reason why I want a VR headset! Currently I'm a student and can't afford, however I will be doing it soon!

Question: Have you removed your screens completely and use VR 100%, or do you still have a screens? (My idea is to replace the screens completely)

He complained once before about this stretch, and yet he kept driving auto pilot at the same location? I would never dare to do that, and sounds suicidal. Also I would never dare to fully trust auto-pilot and I think they should change the official name to driver assistance instead, until auto-pilot is ready.

Which is how Tesla want to treat it according to the article: "Tesla says Autopilot is intended to be used for driver assistance and that drivers must be ready to intervene at all times."

I would not be quick to make assumptions like this. He could have experienced the issue like 1/20 times, and intended to remind himself to watch out when he gets to that spot. And maybe he forgot this time. It’s easy to get into a trance on long repetitive drives. It isn’t like he immediately did back to back drives and changed nothing the second time.

And that’s the problem with an “autopilot 99.9% of the time, but still pay attention just in case” feature.

Which is why Waymo never released half self driving technology, their early tests showed that even if they told Google engineers that they were being recorded and they'd be fired if they didn't watch the road, in a few weeks a lot of them trusted the software too much

It is not suicidal, but probably worthy of a honorable mention in the annual Darwin Awards roundup since it was a very bad judgement on his part.

As an engineer - he should have known better than to continue to use the feature the moment it became unreliable for reasons unknown. Those kind of failure modes are extremely devious killers.

So all the engineers who experience a BSOD, they discontinue using Windows immediately after?

This is exactly what the navy did when the bsod parked that destroyer in a harbour 20 years ago.

When you have mission critical pieces of software (aka stuff that kills you) starting to behave in unexpected ways with unknown failure modes you stop using it asap until fixed.

I will gladly continue using my bsoding pc for gaming, but I won't use it in data center or to control a shuttle launch.

If a person uses gas oven that leaks from time to time and only a bit - how will you classify him.

Totally not the same thing. If my car's steering locks up and I can't turn because of a software glitch, I'm returning that thing to the dealer ASAP.

I have had this problem through my whole life... My parents and I have never understood that this definition is ADHD and always assumed it was inability to focus. My mom have always been big about don't take pills unless you absolutely have too.

However it isn't until older age I finally been able to force my exert executive control to focus. It has taken a lot of practice and challenging myself and it wasn't until the age of 26 I finally been able to go to college. I keep challenging myself and I feel it get easier and easier every year.

So now I start to question the inability part. Or if it's something you can actually practice and get over.

I went down into dark depression 2 years back. Wife just had our first baby. I was 38. I used my kid to draw me out of depression so I didn't do anything stupid to myself. Went to therapy over a year ago, was diagnosed with ADHD. At the same time I started doing crossfit and lost 90 pounds in 3 months. My PCP prescribed me Vyvanse, and just being able to focus a little better and see my life change for better and maybe some of the coping stuff I picked up from therapy and I've not had any depression really since day one of therapy.

Honestly, I think therapy had the least effect except realization what was wrong. Drugs I think helped the most.. lately it feels like they're not as good though, or I feel like I'm in a funk. I don't know if that's just life or being overworked or just I need a dose change. Maybe if I cut it cold turkey a week, then get back on it'd reboot or something.

TLDR: I just feel I'm getting off track a lot more lately than I was the previous 14 months. Not sure what I should do, maybe go back to therapy? Maybe focus more on mindfulness/stoicism? Up my dose of Vyvanse? Go back to the gym? All the above?

im having a similar issue and am also prescribed vyvanse (or elvanse as its called here) i like to test theories out myself so ive tried taking extra and it does seem to help so i plan on asking about a dosage increase at my next review

i also tried cold turkey for near a month in the hope it would lower my tolerance but sadly no such luck, it did however give me some spare meds with which to try the higher dose

Taking extra is a fast track to burnout and disaster. Do it at your own peril.

My understanding is that tolerance is essentially inevitable when you're taking stimulants. I've made a point of checking in with a psychiatrist on a monthly basis so they can help me measure it semi-objectively and adjust if necessary. When resistance does start to develop, a psychiatrist will also have plenty of options for managing it; for example, I think that some people rotate between amphetamine salts, methylphenidate, and other stimulants over the course of several years. They'll also be able to help you figure out which other courses of action would be most helpful, figuring out what issues are actually causing you the most problems and how to address those effectively and so on.

TL;DR There are specialists for "I think my medication isn't working any more" and I'd strongly recommend talking to one, both for this specific problem and on an ongoing basis so you're not forced to try to observe your head from the inside.

Practice helps, it’s just an uphill battle without meds.

There are many books on the subject of good exercises, and some therapists that specialise in helping adhd people.

Can u recommend any?

Imagine using this with CTRL kit wrist band

Because NextMind interaction seemed very slow, so would be difficult to move around with for example: the mouse, or writing text. This might be quicker in the future where you could imagine whole words and write it. But I think they need some timer safety so not random words or random actions happens.

This is something that I imagine CTRL labs wrist band could handle a lot better since it deals with the hand motions and seemed to be quicker in response.

So Nextmind is used for saying what I want to interact with while CTRL kit wrist band is used to how your interact.
