It is said that human eyes can resolve down to 1 minute of arc(1 MOA or 1/60 degrees). Each eye has about 160 degrees of HFOV and 125 degrees of VFOV.
From there, you can work out requisite resolution for desktop replacing VR googles: 11K per eye.
The catch is that human eyes actually only have
~1 degree of full resolution area and ~30 degree of active area, and the full 200 degree HFOV is only realized by moving them around and subconsciously compositing images, so most of panels can bee left unlit, in theory.
But the panel resolution requirements is the same, and our technologies are just not there to make a true desktop replacement VR goggle, yet.
^ this and the entire drama is just an ad campaign to make the rebranding stick. what is really going to work is to keep calling it Twitter, as it identifies itself, and slowly move over the scene to Bluesky/Mastodon.
What demoralize them the most is to show whoever pays for it doesn't matter.
Clothes are a bit complicated but dishes? Industrial non-humanoid robots have been assembling junk foods into trays and shipping them out at scale for decades. Why would it take long from here until they can take bone china plates on and off tables?
Now, whether everyone will be tolerated private ownerships of those robots or whether those will be for communist centralized restaurants in the city at the beginning, that I think is a slightly different issue.
Why do we have to assume a default antagonistic relationships between us and AI? The world is full of natutal general intelligence entities with interests that technically conflict yours, that are able to injure or kill you, personally or collectively. Extremely few of them do so because they're nice and conflict is manageable.
Is that because a lot of prominent AI hype boys are such massive generational assholes that it's normal for them to be constantly looked down, alienated and threatened by everyone around them?
There's no standards. AdSense is sort of a paid social media of its own. You sign up and post a tweet, then those tweets get embedded to sites if AI clears it. The key difference between Twitter and AdSense is that you're supposed to be using the latter for your own financial gain.
And it just so happens that someone doing something for their personalized financial gain is a super strong negative indicator of everything.
I wonder if source IP can be ping triangulated, then total ping count displayed as "Tesla MAU: +/-x% today", "Suspected ownership changes this month: xxx cars" by apparent home location changes, then residential and Tesla-unrelated locations excluded server side, and plotted on the map, then finally the whole system exposed to the public Internet and shared to SpaceX fans.
"Hey Texas Model S #345 just left KXYZ, moving at >100mph towards the pad. Everyone get cameras out!"
Of course it might not, it has been the holy grail of AI research for a long time. It would be great if we could leave some self improving code running on a blank slate of a computer while we sleep and the machine was crying asking me what is everything the next morning. None of AI researchers have had that moment outside of their dreams, so far, but it would be great if it happened.
If you're like playing Apex/Valorant/PUBG/Dota and such, and scared that use of remote plays might get flagged, you could just use HDMI-in MPEGTS-out Ethernet capture streamer building scale HDMI extender thing(I don't know the actual categorical name). Inputs can be handled by a separate device, or just wireless keyboard/mouse.
Note that if anti-cheat is a concern, common dev boards like Arduino Leonardo and Pi Pico could also trigger flagging, so maybe that needs to be done slightly differently too(assuming the intent is good and this don't count towards anti-cheat evading in whatever you're doing).
Good point, I do play some games with anti-cheat like ARC Raiders. I don't think software screen capture would necessarily be an anti-cheat issue, maybe software mouse inputs are more likely to be.
As for dev boards, it wouldn't ever show up as a dev board to the PC, it would simply be simulating a dumb hardware keyboard. That's one of the reasons I wanted the board itself to have its own wired network.
If there were people under the same CGNAT with someone running one of those exit nodes, then that's not a false positive.
