Have you tried living somewhere else or would you like to? For what it’s worth, several societies who were and are predominantly Christian have done quite well, such that most people immigrate to them as opposed to other countries.
Can you live in a majority indigenous area? Would that be appropriate if you are not indigenous? I say this because I do think many are too critical of Christian countries without ever experiencing another country. They don’t know how good they have it.

Supposed intellectual wasteland is far better than an actual wasteland. If you live in the US, you most likely have it far better than most everyone else on earth. Immigrants know this much better than Americans who take their freedoms and comfortable life for granted. They are a hard working people and have earned their current privileges.

Outside of our few Disneyland style cities, you're going to get nothing but Applebee's, freeways and obese people hooked on fentanyl. It's truly post-apocalyptic here. I've been to many countries and all of them have the US beat for quality of life. Walk-able, great food, aesthetically pleasing, rich history not built on genocide and land theft, no NFL/jesus/monster truck/gun culture...
Just because some immigrants abandon their homes to come be part of the problem, it doesn't actually make the US a good place to live. I think movies and TV really did a number on a lot of people giving them a misguided view of what it's like to live here.

Ask most everyone else on earth how much they pay per month for health insurance. Most can't even fathom how we live like we do once they start learning the details. It's horrible.
You have an Applebees, what I am referring to is extreme poverty, where people have chronic hunger or are starving. High insurance costs are bad, but consider the person who has no ability to pay for food let alone medical care and there is little to no support.
There are certainly wealthy countries other than the US, but most people don’t live in those countries.

Yeah, I think the story is that Penrose saw an illusion in an Escher print that encouraged him to create the Penrose Triangle, his dad Lionel created the Penrose staircase, and then sent a copy of these in the paper "Impossible objects..." to Escher, who then used the staircase in "Ascending and Descending" and others. It's kind of cool that they cite eachother in these works as inspiration here. I bet Escher could have made an interesting print of them pointing at one another in some kind of impossible object.
And apparently neither Penrose nor Escher knew about Oscar Reutersvärd's work! Oscar got robbed lol.
Yeah, it’s odd that Escher didn’t respond to Reutersvärd’s letters. Also, Penrose found out about Reutersvärd’s work in 1984:

Same reason I miss those library cards found in the back of books. I enjoyed seeing the history a book had, how years could pass without anyone checking it out or seeing a flurry of checkouts.
Why don’t people migrate to developing countries instead to help them directly. This form of migration makes it appear that Western countries are better.
There is a big problem with mass migration and people entering a country with antithetical values and beliefs.
So you think parents should not have a say? Wouldn’t that be rather authoritarian to have whatever books and disregard criticism? Many librarians are activists and are choosing books that are not educational. They are actively selecting books that they agree with.

I have mostly come to the same conclusion. I don’t go on Reddit much these days and hacker news as well. When it comes to political discussions dissent is typically challenged with various means other than debate.

I agree with you. The real world is stressful or less than ideal for many reasons and we have to apply our knowledge within that context.
In addition to that, this claim is like the dragon in my garage thought experiment. It an unfalsifiable claim that they have “knowledge” but can’t demonstrate it.
